Police in Derry are appealing for information after a child was approached in suspicious circumstances in the Ardnamoyle Park area this morning.

The girl was close to a pizza shop when a car pulled up and the driver asked if she would like some sweets. As the girl ran off she noticed a man getting out of the car. He is described as having a clean shaven face, short spiky brown/black hair and being of a medium build. He was wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

The car is described as being a navy old style Vauxhall Astra with tinted windows.

Anyone who was in the area between 8.30am and 9am and could further help police with their enquiries is asked to contact Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
