Leading mental health charity Rethink will bring the controversial play 'Cuss the World' to The Playhouse Theatre on Tuesday, May 27.
The play is part of their Rethink Re-Act awareness programme, sponsored by ESB Electric Aid Ireland, which aims to raise the profile of mental ill health and suicide among young people across the North.

Rethink NI's Fundraising and Marketing Manag
er, Geoff Scott is urging local people to come along and engage with the play as a means to educate and inform themselves about significant modern social issues. He says: 'Cuss the World' is a challenging modern piece written and directed by Patricia Downey from the Spanner in The Works Theatre Company. This insightful play can at times make for uncomfortable watching but is a 'must see' for anyone trying to come to terms with the issues facing young people today

The performance will be followed up by a workshop in the area where a selected group of young people will through dramatic expression, create their own ten minute play as a means to explore their fears and concerns about the issues that affect them.

Encourage

James Foley from ESB Electric Aid would also like to encourage as many people as possible to see the play: "Mental ill health and suicide are vitally important issues in communities all across Ireland which is why we have funded this programme. The play and the subsequent workshops is a creative way for young people who can be particularly vulnerable to risk to explore and share their feelings and worries," he said.

Admission is free but it is recommended that 'Cuss the World' is not suitable for anyone under the age of 16. Doors open at 7.45pm, admission on first come first serve basis. Anyone connected to a school, youth or community organisation who would like to bring a group of young people along should contact Geoff Scott at Rethink's regional office.
