A Derry health centre has just been awarded a prestigious design award.
The new Waterside Health and Social Care Centre on Spencer Road has been recognised in the annual Royal Society of UIster Architects (RSUA) awards.

The centre - designed by Philip Parker Architects and officially opened last year - is to receive the Society's DSD Regeneration award.

The awards' judging panel describes the new building as a "major insertion into the townscape which can kick-start regeneration and improvement on the high street".

The citation adds: "The scale of the building shifts as the site falls away towards the river presenting superb panoramic views over the river to the walled city."
