Derry author John O'Connell has suggested in his latest book that God is a female and has more in common with the SDLP than with Sinn Fein.
‘God is a Woman and the Future’s Female!” is Mr O’Connell’s eleventh book and continues his discussion of themes such as Christianity and politics. It’s published by his own imprint, Oak Grove Books.
Mr O’Connell says, ““To be a Christian is to support the definition of God in the New Testament. It may be time to tear the Bible in two and burn the Old Testament for it offers us nothing but shallow masculine values that encourage violence and evil.”
He argues that the SDLP seems more in tune with the God of the New Testament - “The SDLP, from an assessment of their policies, support the female God of non-violence and peace, the true God.”
