Local kids star in 'Fiddler'
Seven local schoolchildren are set to get their feet stamping when they appear in the stage version of 'Fiddler on the Roof in the Millennium Forum next week.
Dervla Guckian, Zoe Kelly Robinson, Odhran Doherty, Patrick Keenan, Hayley Quinnell, Niamh Doherty, and Lorcan Baker, all aged between 11 and 12, are students at the Foyle School of Speech and Drama.
The girls will play the part of Tevye's daughters while the boys are in the chorus.
"The expectations are high," said drama teacher Sandra Biddle.
"The girls have a big part playing the daughters as they have a lot of dialogue. They have all taken to it beautifully, and it's been good to work on their acting skills. There are some really big numbers including the wedding scene and sabbath prayer."
Ahead of the opening night performance on Tuesday, the local kids will have one run through with the cast on Tuesday afternoon.
