Man rescued from river

A young man was rescued from the River Foyle after falling from the Craigavon Bridge.
The man was seen falling from the bridge at around 10.15pm on Monday.

The PSNI then contacted Foyle Search and Rescue who sent an emergency response crew to save the young man.

A spokesperson for Foyle Search and Rescue said: "The teams were scrambled to deal with the situation by the PSNI after the male was seen falling into the river from the Craigavon Bridge.

"Foyle Search and Rescue boat crews and police located the male quickly and brought the young man to safety where he was transported to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment."
