Grieving Derry mother, Marie Ferguson is still waiting for an answer from PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde on whether police will further investigate the death of her daughter Raychel.
As the public inquiry into the nine year-old's death prepares to resume, a progress meeting will be held in Belfast later this month.

The Public Prosecution Service say no-one is to be prosecuted over Raychel's death.

Raychel's mother Marie last night told the 'Journal' she owed it to her daughter to find out the truth of what happened the night she died.

She said SDLP Leader Mark Durkan had written to Hugh Orde on her behalf.

"I want a full police investigation," said Marie. "The truth is that not one doctor or nurse was interviewed about the night Raychel died.

"What I'm worried about is that these police notes will be handed to the inquiry, when the investigation hasn't been carried out fully.I owe it to Raychel to keep going."

Raychel died four days after routine surgery to have her appendix removed at Altnagelvin hospital.

The seventh anniversary of Raychel's death is in June.
