Sentencing delayed in Gilchrist case

The sentencing of three Derry men involved in the death of jazz musician Jim Gilchrist has been delayed.

Antony Fahy, 20, of Northland Road, who pleaded guilty to murder and Daryl Quigley, 21, of Crawford Square along with Daniel Young, 21, of Cornshell Fields, who both pleaded guilty to manslaughter, will now be sentenced on June 5 or June 6.

The men had been due to be sentenced today (Friday).

Father of five James Guthrie Gilchrist ,62, who was living in the Woodbrook area of Derry, was murdered and his body then dumped in the River Foyle on September 28, 2005.
