£1 million jobs boost announced

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness announced a major £1 million jobs investment in Derry today which will create 30 jobs over the next three years.

The jobs, which will be created by the Belfast based Consarc Design Group, were announced at the Guildhall.

Consarc Design, which is headed up by Everest climber Dawson Stelfox, offers professional consultancy services in architecture, historic building conservation, quantity surveying and project management.

Mr. McGuinness said the jobs announcement is evidence of the economic regrowth in Derry.

"This investment reflects the commitment Consarc has to the city and the North West as well as demonstrating their ability to recognise the business potential here.

"Derry, and the surrounding area, is experiencing an economic re-growth and revitalisation and, like the rest of our cities, has a great deal to offer.

"Today's announcement can only enhance the employment opportunities for the local community and is future evidence that the city is driving economic growth in the North West of the island," he said.
