Derry’s enterprise week wrapped up on Friday and was hailed as a huge success by members of the local business community.
The week long series of events concluded with an opportunity for local businesses to ‘Meet the Buyer’ at an event in the City Hotel.
Organisers say the event was designed to give local SME’s the confidence and information to bid successfully for public sector and big business contracts.
It also provided businesses with an opportunity to showcase their business capabilities to an influential, public sector and big business audience.
The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Hilary McClintock, thanked everyone who supported and attended the Enterprise Week events and said it was a very successful week of business for the city and district.
She said: “It was a pleasure to welcome so many businesses and individuals who signed up to the programme. I would like to thank everyone who attended, our partners, key note speakers and sponsors, Virgin Media Business for making this a great success.
“It provided a unique opportunity for Derry City and Strabane District Council and our partners to engage with local businesses and assist them in up skilling, networking and engaging with one another.
“Our aim in running this event each year is to offer local businesses and entrepreneur’s practical advice and assistance that will help them produce effective strategies for achieving growth and development and I believe we have delivered this.”
The Enterprise Week programme took place from Monday March 6 until Friday March 10 in various locations throughout the city and district.
