All new technology on show for the Hobbit 3D

The Hobbit.

The Hobbit.

Derry movie lovers are set to be enthralled by the incredible 48 frames-per-second new 3D technology when The Hobbit: An unexpected journey 3D HFR explodes onto screens at the Brunswick Moviebowl this December 13.

Director, Peter Jackson, is launching this new 48-frames-per-second cinematography on an epic stage with the eagerly anticipated release of The Hobbit and it seems that audiences are intrigued to see how this new technology will appear on the big screen.

The current format for cinema movies worldwide is 24 frames-per-second and the human eye can see up to 55 frames-per-second so it will be interesting to see how this new and innovative method is received by local cinemagoers.

Brunswick Moviebowl manager, Eamonn Mc Laughlin, said of the technology: “I was blown away with the clarity, hyper-real quality and hair-raising effect of this beautiful new 3D technology.”

Mr Mc Laughlin added: “Brunswick Moviebowl is the only cinema in the North West with the technology to screen this amazing new format and the buzz and anticipation from local movie fans is palpable.”

One of the biggest advantages of this new 48 frames-per-second digital cinematography is the human eye seeing double the number of images per second, over standard 24 frames-per-second format giving the movie an incredible immersive quality shrouded in superfluous detail with razor sharp clarity.

In addition to this, the 48 frames-per-second 3D HFR solves the inherent stuttering effect of celluloid resulting in an unhurried, comfortable and briskly engaging 3D experience.

The Hobbit: An unexpected journey 3D HFR, opens at the Brunswick Moviebowl on Thursday December 13 and tickets are on sale now at the box office on 02871 371999 or online at www.brunswickmoviebowl.com
