Bald man to visit Waterside

Fred MacAulay.

Fred MacAulay.

Stand-up comedy legend and star of TV and radio Fred MacAulay takes his one man show on the road this autumn – for his first ever tour of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. He’s Scottish, he’s in your town – and he’s Legally Bald.

Fred famously gave up his steady job in accountancy nearly twenty five years ago to turn to a career in stand-up comedy.

Now a household name through TV’s Have I Got News for You, Q.I, Mock the Week and BBC Radio 4’s News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth and Just a Minute, he has hosted BBC Radio Scotland’s daily morning show MacAulay & Co for the last fifteen years, as well as continuing to perform live in Scotland and all over the world.

Now audiences in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will get the opportunity to see his sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show ‘Legally Bald’ in a theatre near them for the first time.

‘Legally Bald’ sees Fred (and his forehead) reflecting on family life and the puzzling and sometimes infuriating state of the world.

He may even touch on Scottish independence and whether the rest of the British Isles gives a damn!

Topical

With a bagful of great stories and witticisms, Fred is a warm and skilful performer, who is also noted for his incisive comments on anything that’s topical, and who never shies away from controversy.

‘FRED MACAULAY’ will be at The Waterside Theatre on Friday, November 23.

Telephone the Box Office for tickets on: 71 314000 or book online at: www.watersidetheatre.com
