Beatnik Soul present Mama Rosin
Mama Rosin are on their way to Derry!
Hailing all the way from Switzerland, Mama Rosin have confirmed they will play a show in Derry on Sunday, March 3, as guests of Beatnik Soul upstairs in the Gweedore Bar.
This Swiss trio are a band on the up after a productive 2012 which saw the release of their fourth studio album, ‘Bye Bye Bayou’, produced by Jon Spencer (yes, of Blues Explosion fame!) to rave reviews.
A busy touring schedule has honed their sound and wowed audiences everywhere with their explosive live show.
They have forged a unique sound described by The Quietus as “psychedelic cajun punk voodoo rockabilly dance music”.
Andy Gill of The Independent once described them as “an alliance of primitivist spirits, keen to keep a roots music form out of the museum.”
This promises to be an unmissable show and a great one to kick off what will be a busy year for Beatnik Soul, so keep your eyes peeled for further announcements.
Mama Rosin will be ably supported on the night by two of Derry’s finest exports in Teknopeasant and The Murder Balladeers.
Beatnik Soul DJs will also be on hand with a suitably trashy selection of garage rock & roll.
Early Doors for this one at 8.30pm. Admission £7.
