Beauty and the Beast Derry style - Watch the Video here

Waiting for Video...

Where would you find Disney’s Belle reading ‘50 Shades of Grey’ while surrounded by the Foyle Follies?

Derry’s Diamond of course.

And who’d have thought that the Disney beauty likes to get her Fish Suppers at Frankie Ramsey’s cafe ?

But thanks to the City of Culture and a bit of artistic licence, Derry’s Sandra Biddle has produced her own piece of Derry Disney Magic.

Entitled ‘Beauty and the Derry Beast’, Mrs Biddle along with her pupils from the Foyle School of Speech and Drama have created the musical theatre piece to depict the hopes and joys of young people in the city for the city of culture.

Starring local drama students, the Foyle Follies and a special cameo appearance from the Women of Hope, Beauty and the Derry Beast follows Belle on her quest to find love and a better life.

Set across Derry on some of the city’s most iconic landmarks including the Peace Bridge, the Fountains at Guildhall Square and of course the War Memorial at the Diamond, the video is a true work of Derry fiction.

Meet Majella, the women in the hairdressers (prepare for plenty of backstabbing), and a boy who offers to take Belle ‘a walk on the walls.’

It’s a must see for all locals.
