The Carnivale of Colours has finally arrived and Derry’s St. Columb’s Park has now become a huge playground filled with clowns, stilt walkers, storytellers and circus performers all eager to entertain!

In Your Space’s Carnivale of Colours offers fun and frolics for all ages. Families from all over the north west can look forward to vibrant shows, international acts, fun activities and scrumptious delights including free arts and crafts, face painting, storytelling, and gourmet food stalls and so much more.

Last year’s Carnivale of Colours saw a staggering 30,000 people come along, and that number looks set to increase this year, particularly with ‘Journey to the Land of the Giants’ appearing at the Carnivale for the first time.

This is the fifth Carnivale of Colours, sponsored by NITB, Arts Council Northern Ireland, Derry City Council, Culture Company and Children in Need, and it will open its Big Top door at 1pm on Saturday, June 2.

Behold and Witness the cream of up and coming Local talent from the City’s finest musical acts at the festivals own ‘Pyramid Stage’, coordinated by our very own Tina McLaughlin and The Jammhouse and featuring artists such as SOAK, John Deery and Dan Official to name but a few .

Local performers and members of the North West Circus School will have an opportunity to wow the crowds alongside international Street Acts Rob Torress, Wacky Chad, Fatt Matt and Granny Turismo! In Your Space are thrilled to have brought these four globally renowned headlining acts together on the same bill for the first time ever.

The most celebrated evening event at the Carnivale of Colours will be tomorrow night’s Gypsy Ball featuring Ireland’s favourite export Cashier No.9 in the Circus Big Top within St Columb’s Park.

The annual ball has become a trademark event for local company In Your Space, encouraging ticket holders to indulge their inner glamourpuss, get on the glitz, dust off the feathers and explore the old world charm of music halls, of bygone days, and when the circus came to town!

This promises to be the hottest ticket in town this year. The night also features the all-American Balkan fusionists, UnderScore Orkestra, Little Hooks, Soak and folk fusionists Cover Girl all providing a rich mix of home-grown highlights. Tickets £10 in advance from We Got Tickets.com.

Derry’s renowned Woodstock Revisited has been announced for the evening of this Sunday, June 3, at the Carnivale of Colours.

Local acts who wowed St Columb’s Hall last year are already gearing up to entertain the masses, playing The Who, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Sly and the Family Stone, Arlo Guthrie, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival and many more!

Tickets for this AMP Promotions event are on sale from Masons Bar priced £8 or £10 at the door. Doors open 8pm to 12 midnight.
