Dazzling prizes to be won in KickStart music competition

Chordblossom.com, the ambitious website celebrating Derry music, has extended the deadline for its hugely popular music competition - won last year by rising star Soak - with a truly astounding list of prizes for 2013.

KickStart is designed to give a band a ‘kick-start’ into the year and into the competitive music industry. The Chordblossom site was devised by local musician Daveit Ferris as a platform for North West music.

“The competition is open to ALL Northern Irish bands, any genre, any age - we want to hear from you all,” says Daveit. “Last year’s winner, SOAK, recorded her much loved EP ‘Sea Creatures’ - and we’d like to find another deserving gem this year to win KickStart.”

Key to this particular contest is the fact that judges care about the songs rather than production values - so rough demos are more than welcome. The list of prizes on offer are staggering. Among the first place prizes are; a photoshoot, a single recorded, artwork for your single, 100 copies of the single, a live video shoot, 500 flyers, a full website, a month of P.R, a slot at Glasgowbury and your band drawn as Zombies to feature in a future edition of local cult comic, Zombies, Hi!
