A Derry woman has travelled to Sweden to star in a musical with a Dublin based society who are celebrating their 25th anniversary.

Rosaleen Doherty from Bishop Street who teaches music in Mercy College Coolock in Dublin, played Ella in the show Mack and Mabel during its sell out run last week at Millbank Theatre.

The show has now been taken to Landskrona, Sweden this weekend for a further five days of performances.

Mack & Mabel is a musical with a book by Michael Stewart and music and lyrics by Jerry Herman. The plot involves the tumultuous romantic relationship between Hollywood director Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand (transformed from an artist’s model to a waitress from Flatbush, Brooklyn for the musical), who became one of his biggest stars.
