Glasgowbury festival headliners Therapy? are set to take the Sperrins by storm this Saturday night.

Therapy? bassist and vocalist, Michael McKeegan, admitted he was excited at the prospect of playing the festival at last.

He said: “Paddy Glasgow (festival organiser) has been in touch with us for a few years now and we’ve been unable to do it before. We spoke together as a band last year and were very specific in saying that we’ll do it this time round, it’s the one we all agreed we wanted to do.”

Remarkably the booking is the band’s first Northern Ireland music festival headline slot.

With over 20 years experience the three piece have a massive back catalogue of material to work from come this Saturday night.

Therapy? released ‘A Brief Crack Of Light,’ earlier this year to widespread acclaim. Most fans will recall 90s’ Mercury nominated album Troublegum most fondly. Front man Michael said: “It’s been a wee bit of a twist for us throwing some older songs into the mix which has been a nice change but we’re really looking forward to getting a chance to playing them at Glasgowbury too.”

“I’ve never been to the festival before,” he admits, “but almost everyone I know has been and I’ve heard great things about it from them all so I’m really looking forward to finally getting up to it.”

Therapy? will be joined by The Japanese Popstars, Fighting With Wire, LaFaro, Silhouette and over 50 more while a comedy tent, kids activities galore and the most beautiful festival scenery will keep you pleasantly occupied.

The line-up also includes, among others, LaFaro, Rams’ Pocket Radio, Wonder Villains, Mojo Fury, Pretty Child Backfire, VerseChorusVerse, Our Krypton Son, Soak, Best Boy Grip, Swanee River, Tucan, The Jepettos, Scorpion Jack, Fox Jaw Bounty Hunters, John Deery and The Heads, Paul Casey, Ard Ri, Intermission and a festival exclusive performance from Derry’s Four Conors.

The electronic acts appearing, thanks to a working partnership with the Celtronic festival, include Psycatron, Ryan Vail, Deep Fried Funk, Space Dimension Controller and Boxcutter. Festival organiser Paddy Glasgow will also perform a short set featuring highlights of one act from every year of the Glasgowbury’s twelve-year history.

“The new stage is to create a nice, chilled out atmosphere on the festival site,” said Mr. Glasgow. “It’s a platform that some new and emerging talent can use to showcase their music while at times it’ll be an area where people can join in the festival spirit in an extra way.” For a full run-down of the festival bill visit www.glasgowbury.com
