Keith’s debut soars to top of World Chart

Derry musician Keith Harkin is celebrating success again this week after news that his new solo album soared straight into No.1 on the Billboard World Album Chart.

Not only that, the local man’s work with stage phenomenon Celtic Thunder continues unabated too, with Celtic Thunder’s latest offering ‘Voyage’ also charting at No.6 in the World Album charts, with the re-entry of their follow-up collaboration - Voyage II - also charting at No.8 in the same album chart! Three separate entries in the Billboard World Album Chart - not bad for a Derry/Donegal surfer who just loves his guitar!

Keith’s album only hit the stores on September 18, but already is causing considerable stir across the Atlantic. As one of the first artists signed to the Verve Music Group since Grammy Award winning producer David Foster joined, he is reaping the rewards.

When asked to describe the style of his debut album, Keith said: “We haven’t put it in a genre as such, we’re looking at it in an old school album way. You know, years ago genre wasn’t the issue. A great album was a great album and it had a taste of everything through it. So on mine, there’s love songs, there’s ballads, there’s pop and a lot of folky things on it.

There’s something for everyone.”

Customer reviews are particularly glowing too, with one customer, Mary Sanders, remarking: “Do yourself a favour and buy this - play the whole thing over and over again! Just Amazing!” Elsewhere, fan Mary Grady says: “The best new artist to come along in quite some time.”

‘Keith Harkin’ by Keith Harkin is in the shops and available online now.
