Local band need your votes

Local band AER have played their way through to the grand final of a UK-wide Oxjam with a chance of winning a place at this year's Leeds Festival.

Having been whittled down by a panel of industry experts from hundreds of bands, they are now in the final public voting stage and they need YOU to achieve their dream!

With only five bands left the group with the most votes will go through.

The judging panel for Oxjam in partnership with NUMU said: "Instantly grabbed our attention with the intro…reminiscent of the Stones, Lenny Kravitz and even Guns n Roses!"

AER have been stalwarts of the local young music scene for some years now. They have self promoted themselves in the Nerve Centre, supported General Fiasco for Practice Makes Perfect, performed in the City of Song Festival for Smalltown America and Music55-7 and much more.

The band comprises Feargus Murphy on lead guitar/vocals, Luke McEvoy on lead vocals/synth, Michael Grimes on bass, Cormac Kerr on drums and Yang Xu on rhythm guitar/vocals.

You can vote once a day, every day until voting closes on May 25.
