Moville panto is a sold out success

Following the sell out success of their production of Jack and the Beanstalk, the Moville Musical Society want to say a massive thanks to everyone who took part in the popular panto.

Speaking to the ‘Journal’ yesterday Producer John McIntyre said they were all delighted with the turnout every night since they started on Wednesday 25th January.

“We’ve had 200 people coming to see us every night and its great to see. There is a lot of laughs and the cast are doing a great job. The main attraction of the Pantomime is quickly becoming Daisy the Cow who can even do a bit of Irish Dancing!”

John said it’s great to see the people out in the droves and hopes the Panto is giving everyone a bit of a pick-me-up after the January blues and giving them something to laugh at.

“Everyone has really put in a fantastic effort this year again. I would like to personally thank John McGilloway, Director, musical director Tom Evans, choreographer Sheila McLaughlin and the three girls who have been working hard behind the stage with cues and much more, Laura Bonner, Sheena Maire Quigg and Catriona Doherty.”

As well as the people working tirelessly behind the scenes, John paid immense tribute to the costume and set designers.

“Carolyn Donovan has worked tirelessly on the costumes for the past three months and the effort that she has put in is fantastic. Everyone comments how good and bright they are.

“As well, this year, we decided to add a few more scenes to the Panto so this required a lot of time and effort from Brendan Farren on the set but the end result looks great.”

Over 100 people involved

With over 100 people involved in the performance of Jack and the Beanstalk it is impossible for the Producer to thank everyone but he did give a special mention to the local businesses for supporting them, whether it be by placing an advert in their programme or by donating spot prizes.

He said: “Everyone from the band to front of stage, to the costumes, the cast and the fairies have helped make it another Pantomime to remember.”

The Moville Musical Society’s Jack and the Beanstalk continues this weekend with the grand finale on Sunday night.

Tickets for that show are all now currently sold out.
