Muff’s Niamh now in final four

Since entering a local music competition at the end of last year, an Inishowen student has now made it to the final four with her version of Etta James’ epic song ‘At Last’.

Niamh Cregan, 16, from Muff has been narrowed down to one of four out of 12 finalists in the Audition Vocal Competition run by Fulltilt Studios in Letterkenny.

Niamh was given just one hour to sing and record her version of the Adele song ‘Don’t you Remember’ and having impressed judges and the online audience on Youtube, the Muff girl has made it to the final four.

Now she is asking the people of Inishowen to back her once more and log onto Youtube and vote for her.

The winner will be decided on Wednesday 8th February at 9 pm.

The finalist with the most views and likes by that time will win two songs recorded at Full Tilt Studios and a music video made by flatpac-productions.

A Moville Community College transition year student, Niamh loved her experiences in the studio so far.

She said: “It was a brilliant experience and even if I don’t get through, I loved recording the track and had a great time I was really scared viewing it for the first time. But it really gave me a taster of what could be,” smiled Niamh.

One half of popular local band James and Niamh, the talented duo recently released their debut album in James’ [McDonald] home town of Moville.

The pair were overwhelmed with the response and the support they received and were amazed to learn they were sold out of CDs on their launch night in Rosato’s Bar after Christmas.

To keep up with the group’s full schedule follow them on facebook by searching for ‘James Niamh’.

But importantly, to like and view Niamh’s video go to www.youtube.com and type Niamh Cregan to listen to her Etta James’ cover track, and get voting!
