Waterside Theatre screening of Bogland for Foyle Hospice
The latest film from a team of award-winning local film-makers, ‘Bogland’, will premiere at Derry’s Waterside Theatre on December 1 with all funds raised donated directly to the Foyle Hospice.
The film is written and directed by the award-winning director David Harkin and is produced by Golda Mansilla, Eoin Daly and David Harkin.
Their last project was entitled ‘Murderous’ which won Best Local film at the Yellow Fever International Film Festival in Belfast earlier this year.
It also features the local talent of James McLaughlin (The Grove Theatre), Ekaterina De Rossi (BBC drama ‘The Fall’), Bill Waters (The Wood of the Crows), and Conor Barr (The Wood of the Crows) .
Bogland is a crime story filmed in and around Derry and Donegal.
The story focuses on the relationship between Frank Connolly (Bill Waters) and his son Eddie (Terry Ritchie). Frank has a dark past full of crime, violence, hatred and dark secrets. Now that Frank is dying, he hopes and prays his son will take a different path in life.
The film was created with no budget whatsoever, fuelled solely by enthusiasm and local talent with all production facilities provided by the cast and crew themselves.
You can purchase tickets at the door on the night, but check out the Bogland facebook page to confirm that there are tickets still available.
Organisers stress that the film is not suitable for children as there is violence, bad language and disturbing scenes contained throughout.
The cast and crew would like to give a special thanks to the Foyle Hospice for coming on board as the charity for this event.
The entire team are confident that the premiere event will be an incredible success to provide a well-deserved donation at the end of the night.
Tickets cost £4, doors open at 7:30pm and the film begins at 8pm.
