Your chance to become a writer

The Derry Journal is offering aspiring writers in the town to put pen to paper for our annual Christmas short story competition.

Open to the very young and the not so young, the Journal Christmas Short Story competition has been hugely popular over the years with thousands of people sharing their writing with us.

To be in with a chance to win all you have to do is submit a story based on a Christmas theme.

There are four categories: 5-7 years, 8-11 years, 12-17 years and adults.

All winners will have their story printed in the Derry Journal and awarded a voucher from Easons.

Even if you have never written a story before, this is your chance to show off your literary skills.
