Friday's Child - Seamus Carlin

This week's Friday's Child is Seamus Carlin. A familiar face at Derry and Strabane District Council, Seamus has been a constant in Derry's famous Hallowe'en celebrations down through the years. He's worked for Derry City and Strabane District Council since 1979 and is one of only a few council workers who have been in the job for more than 30 years.

I am happy go lucky.

Going to Portrush with the family.

Hallidays Leather Factory in the Fountain.

Favourite method of relaxation?

Putting the ear phones on every Saturday night before heading out for the night.

Favourite holiday destination?

Portugal

Who would you most like to meet?

The man who hands me the lotto cheque!

What makes you angry?

People taking selfies.

What makes you happy?

My children, and having the grandchildren round for dinner every Sunday (and barring my grandson Lennon from the house every Sunday).

What human quality do you most admire?

Honesty.

What human quality do you least admire?

Greed.

What was the worst thing to happen to you in your life?

The loss of my parents Danny and Lila.

What is your greatest fear?

Getting buried alive. Please make sure I’m dead.

What has been the high point of your life to date?

Marrying my wife Carol and the birth of my three children.

How would you like to be remembered?

As someone who enjoyed life. I’ll not enjoy it after it goes in.

What is your most treasured possession?

A model Corgi James Bond car from 1967.

If you won the lotto what would you do with it?

Make sure the family is looked after and give some to charity.

If you could be granted one wish in life, what would you ask for?

For good health for my family and me

If you could write your own epitaph what would it be?

Here lays a wee fat baldy man!
