The Journal photo diary has always - and continues to be - the most important log book in the office.
The book is filled every day of the year with local events which people in the community want covered in the city’s oldest newspaper.
Generations have enjoyed seeing their photographs in the ‘Journal’ and our nostalgia pages across all three editions continue to be one of the most popular parts of the paper.
This week, we took a look back at August 1985 and among other things, discovered that a Journal photographer had joined local workmen at the top of the spire at St Eugene’s Cathedral. Here’s just a small example of some of the best photos from that month.
