9th Traditional Music Workshop

The ninth annual Inishowen Traditional Music Workshop will be held in Glengad National School and Glengad Community Centre to-morrow Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November.
The format of the week-end starts with registration on Saturday morning 24th November in Glengad N.S. at 9.30am, followed with classes from 10am – 4pm. On Sunday 25th classes start at 11am – 3pm and end s with an informal concert in Glengad Community
Centre. The tuition fee is 20euro per day .For two children attending from the same family the fee is 35euro per child for both days. For 3 or more children from the same family the fee is 30euro per child for both days. Children must bring a packed lunch both days. A 25 Card Drive will take place in the Malin Hotel to-night Friday 23rd November at 8pm. Two Rounds, playing to time at 10euro per round including supper. 1st Prize: Delux Christmas Hamper. 2nd Prize: Festive Hamper. 3rd Prize Selection of Festive Goodies. Door Prize: Tickets to Inishowen Lapland. There will be a raffle on the night. Proceeds to the classes for children with specific Learning Difficulties in Action Inishowen.
A Variety Craft Fair: Will be held in aid of Malin Parish Community Social Centre on Saturday 24th November in K & M Connelly Foundation, Malin at 1pm
Scoil Teresa Naofa, Malin, are holding their Annual Bazzar on Friday 7th December at 8.30pm in St. Patrick's Hall, Malin. Lots of Prizes. Plus Santa will be dropping in.
Bookings for Glengad Community Centre: Any persons wishing to use Glengad Community Centre for meetings or functions should contact John Mc Daid, Tel: 9379531 or Frances Kelly, Tel: 9379038 to arrange to collect keys.
The Inishowen Gospel Choir is setting up an under 18s youth choir course for 10 weeks. The course will be held in the Inishowen Carnival premises behind Jay Bee's Factory Shop on Thursdays from 7pm to 9pm. The fee is 75euro for ten weeks or 8.50 per week. Parents and Toddlers can now meet up at Playdays Playgroup in Middletown, every Wednesday from 10am to 12 noon. Why not come along and meet other like-minded parents.
Inishowen Disability Action Group and the Irish Wheelchair Association are urgently looking for volunteers to help out at Milltown House, Carndonagh, for a few hours on Mondays. You do not need to be a swimmer - just willing and able. Volunteers are also needed to act as bus assistants. Training will be provided. New Malin GAA
Malin GAA Club are holding a fundraising Night at the Races in McCleans Bar on Saturday 24th November and everyone is invited along.
There is a Foundation Coaching course on the weekend of 30th November/1st December in Muff. The Friday session, 30th November will be between 7and 10pm while the following days session is between 9am and 4pm. Anyone wishing to take the course should contact Maria McLaughlin 0877793679 as soon as possible.
Training for U-8 boys continues on Sundays in the GAA centre from 11-00 to Midday.
Training for U-8 and U-10 girls takes place on Friday evenings from 6-30 to 7-30 in the GAA Centre.
Indoor football for ladies continues on Thursdays in the GAA centre between 8-30 and 9-30pm, any and all ladies are welcome to attend.
Malin Ladies are running their annual Christmas Draw with proceeds going towards Under Age teams in the club. Tickets are 2euro each or a book of six for 10euro, Tickets are available throughout the parish and the club would seek as much support as possible with the draw taking place at the Malin Bingo on Sunday 16th December.
The 2007 Under Age Presentations for boys and girls between U-8 and U-14 takes place in the GAA centre on Sunday 9th December between 5 and 7pm and all support is welcome, especially from parents of children receiving awards.
There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot. The sequence drawn was 3,6,1,5,7,4,2. Bob Willis, Malin, won the E50 prize and next weeks jackpot now stands at E1,100. As always, the club thanks the local community for its continued support.
Malin have new club gear available in McCleans with Jackets, Hooded Tops, Polo Shirts(choice of two) and Tracksuits for all sizes. Orders should be placed with Enda McClean. Anyone who has placed orders should collect gear from McCleans as soon as possible.
