Fun Sports Day at Malin GAA

A Fun Sports Day will be held this Sunday at Malin GAA Centre. This is a fundraising day for Duchenne Ireland Muscular Dystrophy Reserch. Donations for raffle would be appreciated. Telephone Paddy on 074 9370673.

A fundraising prize draw with proceeds going to Duchenne Ireland Muscular Dystrophy Research will take place at a dance in the Malin Hotel  Friday July 25th. Prizes in the draw are 1st: 1000euro. 2nd: Weekend for two in Slieve Russell and 150euro.
3rd: Weekend for 2 in Radisson SAS and 150euro. 4th: Weekend for 2 in Benedict Hotel, Belfast and 150euro and 5th: Weekend for 2 in the Malin Hotel and 150euro. Tickets are 10euro. Please support this worthy cause.

Thank You: The Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy parents would like to thank Maeve and Paddy McLaughlin, Backmountain, Malin Head, for holding a Tea and Coffee Day at their home on the 12th June for Duchenne Research. Thanks to all the people who called on the day and to all the people who helped out. It was a great success and the total raised was 1727.78
A disco will be held in the Crossroads Inn, Malin Head on Sunday next 28th June . DJ Paul C. All proceeds in aid of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research. Everyone welcome.

The annual Malin Raft Race will take place on Sunday, August 3 at Lagg. The assembly time for all those strange and wonderful vessels will be 4pm. Entries will be taken on the day and all entrants must wear a life-jacket or buoyancy aid. The committee would like to appeal for more help on the day. If you would like to help please contact any committee member.

Blessing of Graves: The annual Blessing of the Graves will take place in St. Patrick's Church, Aughaclay on Sunday 3rd August and St. Mary's Church, Lagg on Sunday 10th August. Ceremonies start at 3pm.
Thai Boxing classes in Malin GAA clubhouse on Sundays at 7.30pm. The classes will suit all age groups from secondary school and above and all levels of fitness. 5euro per session. For more information please contact Anne Marie Byrne on 07493 70638 or mobile 00447814502238.

Inishowen Development Partnership is currently taking names from women interested in doing the ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) training programme. The free course will commence in September 2008 and is suitable for any woman who wants to develop her skills and knowledge of computers. The course will run for 32 weeks and will involve a commitment of one day a week for two hours. Each programme will have a minimum of 13 participants and will be held in a number of locations in the peninsula, subject to demand. This course is completely free and due to the limited number of places available, selection for participation on this course will be by application form only. The Job Club Centre will be starting a new job-seeking programme soon in Moville, Carndonagh and Buncrana. The sessions will take place a few mornings per week. We welcome all those who are currently looking for a job to contact us. We can provide you with the services and support you will need in order to help you secure the right job. Irish dancing continues in Malin Head Community Hall on Wednesdays followed by Ceili dancing classes at 9pm.
Drop-in clinics for those caring for an older person take place on the last Monday of every month in Carndonagh Community Hospital. For more information, please contact 087 2770103.
