Confirmation was conferred on sixth class pupils in the Malin parish last Sunday at 11am in St. Patrick's Church, Aughaclay by Bishop Francis Lagan.

Children from Urblereagh NS were Edel Mc Laughlin, Denise Doherty, James Mullin, and Niomi Mc Laughlin. Children from St. Mary's NS, Malin Head were Aoife Doherty, Bridgeen Doherty, Niamh Stevens, Stephanie Glackin, Linda Coffey, Aine Doherty and Eamon Hegarty

Daffodil Day Thanks: Helen would like to thank all the Business People in the area that helped to sell daffodils and pins on Daffodil Day. Also to you the people for supporting the charity. The amount raised in the Malin Parish was 1195euro.

Properties sought: Some of the top golfers part in the Irish Seniors Open in Ballyliffen in June have requested to stay in rental accommodation. An estimated 5,000 to 10,000 spectators are expected to travel to Ballyliffen for this big event. Anyone with suitable properties to let are asked to contact Ballyliffen Golf Club on 074 9376119.

A sponsored walk is being organized in aid of St. Luke's Hospital, Dublin and the Day Care Unit of the Oncology Ward, Letterkenny General Hospital. The walk will take place from Culdaff to Malin via McSheffrey's Bridge on 18th May at 2pm. For sponsor cards Telephone 074 9379166. Everyone welcome.

Drop-in clinics for those caring for an older person take place on the last Monday of every month in Carndonagh Community Hospital. For more information, please contact 087 2770103.

Donegal Action for Cancer Care is inviting people in Inishowen to an interdenominational service for those affected by cancer. It will take place in St. Eunan's Cathedral, Letterkenny, on Sunday, April 27 at 3pm. It will give people an opportunity to come together to remember their loved ones, to give thanks for healing and to have hope for the future. All welcome. A bus will leave Carndonagh at 1.30pm. The Grand Opening of the GAA Centre in Malin Town has been set for Sunday 4th May, the bank holiday week-end. An Inishowen Select side will play the Donegal senior team in honour of the occasion.

Carrowmenagh FC have tickets out now for their first ever Grand Draw. Prizes: first prize – Mitsubishi Colt; second prize - 2,000euro cash; third prize – two nights in one of Donegal's top hotels, Harvey's Point, and twelve other fabulous prizes. Pre-marriage courses will be available in the Pastoral Centre, Carndonagh, on the following dates: 25th/26th April 08; 30th/31st May 2008. Courses are from 8pm-10pm on Friday nights and from 10am-5pm on the Saturday. Application forms available from the Pastoral Centre on 9374103 between 10.30 am – 12.30 pm.

Donegal County Council has received funding to extend a pilot project for the installation of smoke alarms in vulnerable households nationwide. The Council has identified three target groups, i.e. older persons, persons with disability and lone parents. If you fall into any of the above categories and do not have a smoke alarm in your home, please contact Action Inishowen on 074 9374529 or call into your office in Millbrae, Carndonagh.

The Carndonagh Feis will take this year on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June. The Feis syllabus will be sent out to all the local schools by mid-march and the closing date for entries will be Friday 2nd May. Could all cups/shields be returned on or by that day to Karen Mc Laughlin, Malin Road, Carndonagh.
