The Scottish/Irish Hogmanay in August weekend (24th – 26th). Fr Eddie McGuinness is organising this event to acknowledge the traditional link between Scotland and Donegal. A garden fete will
be held in the Moville Presbyterian Church grounds on Saturday 18th August starting at 2pm. Church will be open to the public. The glamorous Granny and Handsome Grandad competition will commence at 3pm. Usual stalls will be available, cakes, plants, books, bric-a-brac, games, tea and even a bouncy castle, plus many more novelties. Music by Capricorn, admission 2 euro (children under 12 are free). All proceeds in aid of the proposed hall building fund.
The Inishowen Methodist Churches are holding their annual Regatta Afternoon Tea and Cake sale at the Moville Hall on Monday 6th August from 3pm to 6pm. The usual cakes/plants will be available.
The Annual Blessing of the Fishing Fleet takes place at Greencastle Pier on Friday 10th August at 3.30pm. Everyone welcome.
Moville Fire Brigade is doing their annual car wash at the bottom of Main Street in support of the Donegal Hospice on Saturday 4th August from 12 noon to 5pm. Please support.
Any child born in 2002 or already in school that has not received their preschool booster are now invited to attend their GP for the 4 in 1 (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough and Polio) and MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccines. Umbra Clothing Collection. All types of clean, dry, ladies, gents, and children's clothing and also, bed linens, curtains, towels and shoes are needed. The collection will help fund the Educational Project aimed at educating the children of Kitui, Kenya. Please leave items at St. Mary's Ballybrack car park on Friday 3rd August before 12 noon.

Serenity House will be holding their annual Art and Craft Exhibition in Serenity House, Moville on the Sunday 5th and Monday 6th August from 12pm to 5pm. Admission is free. Why not come along and see what you also could achieve under the tuition of your expert tutors.
Serenity House, Moville is running an ECDL course for Second Level students starting on the 3rd September. It will run on Monday and Thursday evenings from 5pm to 7pm for 30 weeks at a cost of 5 euro per week. For further information and to book a place contact Serenity House on 9382945. In the coming weeks the Committee will be organising the annual Garden Competition. Application forms will be available in the Post Office. Anyone interested should complete a form and return it to the Post Office by 11th August.
The final clean up of the season will be held on Saturday 11th August at 10:30 in from the car park on the Green. For every bag of rubbish you collect you will get a free raffle ticket. We will be asking local businesses to donate the prizes.
Presentation of the awards and prizes for both the competition and Clean-Up raffle will be presented on Monday 20th August venue to be agreed.
We will also be calling a public meeting in the coming weeks as part of the consultation for the Interreg HEART project (Heritage, Environment, Arts and Rural Tourism). This will give people an opportunity to view the plans for the Environmental Improvement Scheme and the Sculpture Trail – Lockie Morris has been selected as the artist for Moville. We will also try and tackle the litter problem. We hope as many people as possible can attend.
