Band gets invite to big parade

The Muff Youth Accordion Band have been invited this year to take part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Moville, weather permitting the band will parade through the village leaving the Hall at approximately 1.15 p.m.
This is an opportunity for local people to hear the band and show their appreciation for all the hard work and dedication of the children and everyone involved in the running of the band through the years.
An old Tyme and Ceili will be held in the G
AA Centre, Ture on Sunday, 15th March dancing from 9-11.30 p.m. Admission 5 euro including supper.
The youth choir CD Committee would like to thank the Muff branch of the Red Cross for sponsorship of 90 euro and 10 euro. It was much appreciated.
Will the Church Flower arrangers please note the next meeting has been changed to Thursday, 26th March at 7.30 p.m. in the Thornhill centre.
Thornhill College is running free classes for adults on various topic on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Contact 04871355822.
A date to mark in your diary is Friday, 20th March when a dance in aid of Greenbank Friday Club will be held in Foody's Lodge. Music by Lorenzo - dancing from 9.30 p.m. to 12.30 ;p.m. Admission 5 euro. Door and spot prizes.
There was a large attendance in St. Mary's Community Hall last Sunday for the annual Auction, not only was it a financial success but the craic was good too. The organisers would like to thank everyone who helped to make the auction so successful, especially the non-committee members who worked so hard over the weekend. Those who gave subscriptions, donated food for the teas and gave in items to be auctioned, and of course, all those who attended and spent so generously on the day. The amount raised was 2,647 euro which will go towards Hall funds.
Learn to jive in only four ninety minute classes, the new beginner jive class in St. Mary's Community Hall will start on Tuesday, 24th March at 8.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Step by step instruction also in the Plaza Ballroom beginner social Ballroom and jive classes beginning 11th March - ballroom starts 8 p.m., beginner jive starts 9.15 p.m. Booking essential leave your details at the Plaze Reception.
Community Bingo as usual next Saturday night in St. Mary's Community Hall at 9.15 p.m. Your continued support is appreciated.
Local residents and business owners should be aware that robbers don't necessarily carry out their criminal activity after dark as a few houses have been targeted during daylight - at one house in the Muff area the thieves stole two large statue like ornaments from outside a house around mid-day while the occupants were not at home. If you notice any strange cars or vans circulating around your area take the number of the vehicle it may be of vital importance if a robbery did take place.
Winners in this weeks Parish draw were: Aoibhan Short and Jasmine Derry, Drumacross, 300 euro, Gary Deery, Three Trees, 200 euro and Joe Lynch, Kilderry, 100 euro.
Naomh Padraig GAA -The numbers drawn in this weeks lotto draw were 4:5:1:6:7:3 and 2. There was no jackpot winner, however 100 euro runner-up prize went to Bernie McCauley, 24 Craig Park. Next week's jackpot will be 700 euro
The Club will be running a table quiz in Foody's Lodge on Saturday, 14th March at 9.30 p.m. All proceeds going towards the purchase of an underage football and hurling rig. All support greatly appreciated.
