Lights, camera, action - time is running out for litter bugs in Muff - the 'Eco Villains' who constantly dump their household waste at the bank site at St. Mary's Community Hall - not only is there a heavy penalty imposed on these people when caught, as the Donegal County Council and the Muff Development Co-Op have arranged to erect CCTV at the bank site.
They will be named and shamed. This is part of ongoing cooperation with the County Council and the Development Committee with a view of improved use and management of the site.
The Tuesday Club resumes after the Easter break on Tuesday, 1st April at
the usual time of 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Community Hall. The final session of the Spring programme was very well attended, when an interesting presentation on gardening was made by Paddy McCartney. A programme of activi-ties for the next quarter is now being put together and any ideas on activi-ties is welcome. Come along and have a cup of tea, a chat and join in the action. New members welcome.
Ilor Maighe (Muff Irish language group) will also resume on Tuesday's at 5.30p.m., beginning in St. Mary's Community Hall on Tuesday, 1st April.
Calling all committees, residents associations and concerned individuals - Muff Community Development (Meitheal Mhaighe), are organising their annual Spring Clean (Meitheal Ghlanadh An Earriagh) on Saturday, 5th April. Proceedings kick off at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Community Hall with a cup of tea, followed by a short video on recycling. Gloves, rags etc. will be supplied. It's our village, let us take pride in it by helping with the Spring Clean.
The winners of the Parish draw were Roisin Brogan, Lenamore, 1,000 euro; Brenda Rutherford, 300 euro; Fr. John Farren, Iskaheen, 200 euro, and Jimmy Ruddy, 100 euro.
The Church Gate collection next week end will be taken up by the St. Vincent De Paul for the Mission in Uganda. Please give generously to this very important cause.
The St. Vincent De Paul Society wish to thank all who supported the Christmas Day Dip in any way. The total raised was 3,573 euro and £333.
Parents, guardians of pupils of Carndonagh Community School from the Drung, Muff and Iskaheen areas are invited to a meeting in Foodies Lodge, Quigley's Point on Wednesday, 2nd April at 7.30 p.m. One of the purposes of the meeting is to nominate names for the Board of Management.
