Bridie McNelly is organising a cake sale on Saturday, 12th April, in St. Mary's Community Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Proceeds to parish funds. Anyone who would like to help please contact Bridie on 9384076. Don't forget the annual spring clean next Saturday, 5th April. Meet at the Hall at 10 a.m. It's our village, let's take pride in it.
The annual general meetin
g of the Muff Festival took place on Tuesday, 25th March, in St. Mary's Community Hall - the following officers were elected for 2008 - Chairman: Bernard Breslin; Vice Chairman: Joe O'Donnell; Minute Secretary: Mary Rose McLaughlin; Joint Correspondent Secretaries: Gerald McLaughlin and Mura McLaughlin; Joint treasurers: Emma McLaughlin and Phyllis McKenna; PRO: Tommy Doherty; Health & Safety Officer: Karl McCarron, other committee members: Liam Harkin, Liam McLaughlin, Willie Doherty, Cassie Hegarty, Kathleen Doherty and Claire Doherty. The next meeting will take place in the Hall on Tuesday, 8th April, at 8.30 p.m. New members welcome.
Fr. Farren would like to thank all those who hosted Station Masses during Lent. If anyone would like a House Mass in October, he would appreciate it if you would contact him.
Used stamps are of use to the Missions. Please leave in the boxes provided in the Church porch.Winners of this week's parish draw were Breege Grant, Craig Park, 300 euro; Sarah Lindsay, Keady 200 euro; and Bernice Maher, Colpey, 100 euro.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Joe Elder formerly of Springfield, Muff also to the parents and extended family of baby Lee Ryan Hegarty, Sappagh, Muff.
A date to mark on your calendar, Tuesday, 8th April, when Yoga will resume in St. Mary's Community Hall. This is an 8 week course, time 7 p.m.-8.15 p.m. cost 60 euro/£45. For further information contact Mary on 0868276720/0749382515.

The sudden death occurred on the 10th March, 2008, of Mr. Charlie Rutherford Carry, Carnamoyle, Muff. Charlie was the beloved husband of Phyllis, loving father of Shaun, Mary, Phillip, Charles, Patricia, Bernie and Brian and loving grandfather of Peter, Dona, Niamh, Reece, Aine, Aaron, Lee and Chloe.
Sympathy is also extended to Charlie's sister May McLaughlin (Quigley's Point), Dan and Vincent (Scotland) and Willie (Dublin) and to all his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins and to his friends. Charlie was predeceased by his parents and brothers Joe and John.
Charlie was an active member of the Irish Farmers Association and represented the IFA at local and national level. Charlie was awarded Life Honorary membership of the Association in 2002 for his loyal service. IFA members formed a guard of honour at the funeral as a mark of respect. Charlie was also involved in various committees including the Inishowen Co-Operative Society, Donegal Creameries and Inishleigh Mill. Charlie was a value member of the local community and always attended community events. The large attendance at his funeral reflected the high esteem in which he was held.
A special thanks to Fr. Farren for the lovely moving Requiem Mass and for his continued support to the family. Thanks also to the Brogan family who provided the music at the Funeral Mass and to Charlie's nephews and nieces for reading.
The Rutherford family circle wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who supported and sympathised with them and who sent Mass cards and letters of sympathy, floral tributes, called to the family home, travelled to be with the family, brought food, helped over the wake and attended the funeral, the grave diggers and altar server. Thanks also to Inishowen Funeral Services for the professional manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.
It is so comforting to know that we live in such a helpful and caring community surrounded by family, friends and neighbours.
Charlie's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 11th April, 2008, at 7.30 p.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Iskaheen, Muff.
The numbers drawn in this week's lotto draw were 2:7:6:3:6:5 and 1. There was no jackpot winner however 100 euro runner up prize went to Luke McCorkell c/o Squealing Pig. Next week's jackpot will be 600 euro.
The senior game was called off last weekend due to the Donegal game. This weekend the club hosts Naomh Ultan with the reserves playing at 3.30 p.m. and the seniors throwing in at 5 p.m. Last weekend saw the beginning of the underage season with both the u-12 girls and boys recording victories over Steelstown. Finally all training continues at the usual times midweek.
The numbers drawn in this weeks Quigley's Point Swifts Mini Lotto were 4:9:11:13:14 and 15. There was no jackpot winner.
Liam Grant, Fahan and Mark Rehill, Muff, matched four numbers and won 30 euro each. Next week's jackpot will be 830 euro and the draw will be on Tuesday night. Ladies training continues at the usual time of 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday night at the Astro Turf. The under age season kicks off on Monday, 14th April, with under-14 team and under-16 team on Wednesday, 16th April, and under 12 on Friday, 18th April. All help greatly appreciated. Would all first team members who have togs and socks since the Easter matches please return them immediately?
There will be a Muff Festival Meeting in St. Mary's Community Hall next Tuesday night at 8.30 p.m. New members welcome.
