The annual Harvest Thanksgiving Services will be held in Knowhead Presbyterian Church this Sunday, 21st October at 10.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. There will be an augmented choir at the evening service after which supper will be served in the Memorial Hall. A warm welcome is extended to everyone.
Members of the staff were treated to a beautiful display of crafts by three of their members: Carol Lynch, Olive Parke and Anne McLaughlin. The many hours of work put into these crafts paid off as most of the work displayed had won numerous prizes at
shows throughout the country. The competition for the best miniature garden on a tray was won by Carol Lynch with Sally Shortt coming a close second. November’s meeting being international month a talk on Hawaii will be given by Mrs. Margaret Greer a past member of the Guild.

Community Bingo every Saturday night in St. Mary’s Community Hall at 9.15 p.m. All support appreciated.

A social night will be held in the GAA Centre at Ture on Sunday night at 9 p.m. Music by the McColgan family. Admission 5 euro including supper.

Flu can affect anyone but annual vaccination can prevent complications or even safe your life. If you are aged 65 or are a younger person with chronic disease such as heart disease, asthma problems, diabetes or kidney problems you are invited to contact your nurse to receive your vaccination.

Blood donors needed, the mobile unit will be at Carndonagh Community School on Wednesday 17th October from 3 p.m.-4.45 p.m. and 7p.m.-9.30 p.m. and on Thursday 18th October from 2p.m.-4.45 p.m. and again from 7p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

The winners in this week’s Parish Draw were Don O’Donnell, Grove Cottage, 300 euro; Matthew Doherty, Cappagh 200 euro and Mary McLaughlin, Wheatfield 100 euro.

Recruitment of volunteers for the new evening service “Good Evening Inishowen” is now in process. Contact Ann at 9321598.

A big thank you to all who contributed to last weekend’s Church Gate collection for the Indian Mission. It amounted to 460.70 euro. £50.

Week’s Quigley’s Point Swifts

Mini Lotto numbers were 2:8:9:11:12 and 15. There was no jackpot winner. Joseph McLaughlin, Glackmore, Ture, Muff matched five numbers and wins 60 euro. Next week’s jackpot will be 1,250 euro and the draw will be on Tuesday as usual. The Club’s annual presentation dinner is on for Friday 16th November in Food’s Lodge in Quigley’s Point. Tickets on sale shortly.

Naomh Padraig Notes

The numbers drawn in the Naomh Padraig were 1:2:3:5:7:6:4. Paul O’Neill and John McGeoghan, Quigleys Point shared the 100 euro consolation prize. Next week’s jackpot will be a massive 4,800 euro.

Quiz in Foody’s Lodge tonight at 10 p.m. Proceeds go to paying for defibulator. A total of 1207.60 and 78.37 euros was collected last week and for Friends of Letterkenny Hospital. Thanks to everyone for your generous contribution. Parish League continues this Sunday at 12.30 p.m. Bus from Clar and St. Mary’s Hall.
