Parish mourns Mary McColgan

Mary McColgan (nee McCarron - Thornhill, Derry) died recently in Burtonport. Mary who lived in England for 44 years died after a short illness.
Deepest sympathy is extended to her husband, Dan, originally from Bolin, Iskaheen, her sons Rory and Dermot, daughters Fiona and Yvonne, to her brothers Michael, Douglas, Peter and Seamus, sisters Margaret and Kathleen. She was predeceased by her bro
ther Alfie and sister Jacintha some years ago. Mass was offered for her in St. Patrick's Church, Iskaheen, by Fr. John Farren to coincide with her Requiem Mass in Burton on Trent. Mary was very well known in this area, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Muff Sheltered Housing site and the houses opposite which are in the process of being built were the target for thieves this past two weekends. Materials were stolen from both sites, and empty beer cans were left scattered on top of the scaffolding. These culprits must be stopped so it is in the interest of everyone in the community to be on the alert and report anyone or anything suspicious to the local Gardai.

There will be an indoor car boot sale in the Plaza, Buncrana, on Friday, 13th, and Saturday, 14th June. Doors open for traders at 9 a.m. and for the general public at 11 a.m. For further information, call at 0863984451.

Breeze in to see Breezy in the Squalin Pig, Muff, tonight - a traditional night of craic, music and story telling. Breezy is on from 9-11 p.m. followed by dancing to Capricorn from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission is 5 euro. Raffle tickets on sale. Proceeds in aid of the Inishowen Carers Support Group.

The winners in this week's Sinn Fein Thir Chonaill lotto draw were Carmel McGrory, Ballintra and Brian Kelly, Letterkenny. Each had three numbers correct and received 50 euro. The winning numbers were 8,18,19,21. There was no jackpot winner. Next week's jackpot will be 2,875 euro.

Community bingo every Saturday night in St Mary's Community Hall at 9.15 p.m. Your continued support is appreciated.

Don't forget the special session of the introduction to Sacred Dance Sunday, 8th June, in St. Mary's Community Hall from 8.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. All proceeds going to the street children in Brazil.

Winners in this week's Parish Draw were: Orla McClean £750 sterling, Ballylaird, Sappagh; Susie McDiad, Carnamoyle, 200 euro; and Margaret Mullan, Trebracken, 100 euro.

The church gate collection next weekend will be taken up for the Irish Cancer Society.

Fr. Farren would like to thank everyone who helped in any way with the Mission. The Mission which took place last week was a great success, the weather was beautiful and the speakers were an inspiration to all.

Amuigh Facin Aer Le Chéile - The Friday club will continue in Greenbank hall on Friday, 13th June, at 2 p.m. when Paddy McCartney will give a talk on gardening peppered with light entertainment. Muff Time on Your Hand Summer programme continues with a guided walk at Inch Bird Santuary on Tuesday, 10th June. Bus leaves Moville at 1 p.m. pick up at Quigley's Point, and Muff for 2 p.m. The cost is 5 euro including lunch. Places are limited. To book phone Mura on 0868568100.

Enjoyable golf continues on Monday, 16th June, with a social scramble - this is suitable for golfers and non golfers. Contact Gerry on 9384128 or 08761079.

Once again our two talented ladies from the Muff ICA have come up trumps at Bonagee Show where they came away with 6 firsts, 5 seconds and 3 thirds in quilting, patchwork, knitting, card making, flower arranging, jam and cakes. The two ladies in question were Carol Lynch and Olive Park. Carol also won the ICA trophy for having the most points. Well done!

Paul Duffy- the cut came nearest in the Naomh Padraig lotto draw. Paul gets 100 euro. Next week's jackpot will be 1,050 euro. Numbers drawn were 4,5,1,2,6,7,3. Sports Day this year will be on Sunday, 6th July, at the GAA grounds, Ture.

Seniors play Carn this Sunday. Reserves at 1 p.m. Senior Games at 3 p.m.
This is a top for the table clash. All supporters welcome.
