Delighted families from St Paul’s Primary and Nursery School have celebrated their Graduation following the very successful FAST (Families and Schools Together) Programme.
FAST is an eight programme which strengthens relationships between parents, school and community, sponsored by Save the Children and Comic Relief.
Principal Mrs McFeely, said: “This is the second year FAST has run in our school and it is going from strength to strength with bigger numbers looking for places each year. The children love having their mums and dads, brothers and sisters and even some grandparents joining in. It has been a pleasure to welcome the families into the school every week. It shows on the faces of the children, FAST makes children shine!”
Mrs McFeely went on to thank the members of the FAST team, led by the coordinator Mrs Margaret Harkin, and all the volunteers who have helped out each week. “It was a real team effort and we couldn’t have done it without their good will and enthusiasm,” she said. “In St Paul’s we believe in developing the whole child and initiatives such as the FAST programme help us to reach out to the families and into community so that we can work together to help our children to reach their full potential.
