Concern’s fundraising for victims of the Philippines Typhoon has raised more than £10,000 in Derry - and there’s still more time to donate.

Derry Support Group member, Charlie Glenn said the charity was “absolutely delighted” by the response in the city.

“It’s something we’ve come to expect from such generous people – although something we must not take for granted. Their response has meant that hundreds of thousands of people in the Philippines have been given help to rebuild their lives.”

The Concern Derry Support Group opened a donation point in the Millennium Forum days after the disaster - it will open again this Friday and Saturday to give more people the opportunity to donate.

In the past two weeks, £60 million has been raised so far for the Philippines Typhoon Appeal by the Disasters Emergency Committee, made up of 14 the leading aid agencies
