Limavady businessman Brian McNulty is to donate an entire weekend’s takings from his award-winning chip shop to charity next month, in an act he says is in memory of his “inspirational” wife.
Brian’s wife, Ann, passed away in September 2012 after a five-year battle with cancer. In the last days of her illness, Brian says a team of dedicated Marie Curie Cancer Nurses looked after Anne, his “confidante and best friend”.
Having the invaluable help of Marie Curie nurses also provided Brian, and the couple’s children, Peter and Kate with much-needed support and respite.
“Anne was a very positive person and, throughout her illness, she was adamant she was going to beat it,” said Brian. “In fact, she was inspirational to others in how she dealt with her illness.
“She was so kind and generous and we wanted to do something to give back and in her memory. I think she would be immensely proud.”
