There have been a number of road traffic accidents in the north west over the past 24-hours.

The main road between Ballykelly and Limavady was closed for a time yesterday evening due to a collision involving three vehicles.

Police said one female sustained injuries that were not believed to have been life-threatening. She was taken to hospital for treatment last night.

There were tailbacks across the area as a result of the accident, but the road reopened later yesterday evening.

Meanwhile across the border in Inishowen there was a traffic accident overnight in the Glentogher area.

A car was witnessed this morning lying on its roof in a roadside ditch with the boot lying open.

It is unclear whether anyone was injured in the incident, which occurred on a stretch of road with a speed limit of 80 miles per hour.
