Glack girl, Aine Murray was already on a high when she boarded the Dublin to London flight on Saturday.
The Derry Minor camogie player was part of the team to lift the All Ireland title against Wexford, and she’d scored a point. “That was amazing. Everyone was so excited,” she said, explaining she was on her way to London to cheer on her mum and friend running the London marathon.
Before take-off at Heathrow, a passenger pointed out TV presenter Jonathon Ross but Aine paid little attention. But, when X Factor judge and music mogul, Louis Walsh boarded the plane, Aine was up out of her seat in seconds, chasing an autograph and picture.
“He was lovely, really chatty,” said Aine. “I told him I was from Derry and where I had been and he said I’d done my county proud.”
As well as happily posing for a picture, Walsh wrote good luck messages to Aine ‘s mum and friend.
“He was really nice.”
