Puddle Alley is delighted to be back in the sumptuous Alley Theatre with a traditional panto, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves from January 13-21, with an original script by Aodh McCay and the cast of the show.
Aodh McCay, the director of the panto, said he hopes this will be the continuation of an annual event for the community of Strabane and district.
He said; “Pantomime is unique in that it can entertain such a wide ranging audience, from the very young to the not-so-young and the ‘even-less-young’ so no wonder it is so popular!
“The cast of Ali Baba have worked very hard in getting the balance just right and that has meant working on lots of comedy throughout the performance. This is complemented by the right amount of beautiful music from voices including Sinead McAteer and Sarah Jane Mullen, who wowed the audiences last year. This year’s Dame is, once again, performed by the sensational and hilarious Gary Gamble, who had last year’s audiences rocking in their seats with laughter. This year Gary will be supported by Aodh McCay, who is well known for his comic performances with Puddle Alley Theatre Group.
“With comedy laced throughout the entire show, this panto promises to be a real treat for all the family to enjoy with never a dull moment!”
There is a magical fairy story for all the young and not-so-young with Ali Baba and his son fighting against the evil leader of the 40 thieves – who will win? Find out and, in the process, have a wonderful family night out at a very reasonable cost.
Opening night is Friday, January 13, at 7.30pm with following shows on Saturday 14, Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 January. There will also be a matinee performance on Saturday, January 14, at 2pm. For more information and to book tickets contact the Alley Theatre Box Office on: 71. 384444 or online: www.alley-theatre.com.
