A Strabane author is receiving a big response to her newly published book centred on what many people believe to be the healing power of angels.
‘Angels Do Come – Just Call’ by Kate O’Kane focusses on the concept of angels, what angels represent to the author and what she believes angels do for other people.
Kate explained: “It’s a book about how we perceive angels and understand them. It’s a personal account but there are testimonies from others in there. I feel as though I have achieved something good with the book, something that might be able to help other people.”
Kate’s is a positive voice emanating from the sorrows and joys of life; experiences which challenge and test the fragile sense of self. Through various journeys over time she has recorded many stories freely shared in relation to the concept of angels.
“As life and living demands so much of everyone, it seems fair to say that we all need something to hold onto, to believe and to encourage us as we travel the journey of life irrespective of how it unfolds. This is an invitation to draw attention to the awareness, acceptance, appreciation and acknowledgement of angels, who wish to serve!” said Kate.
Kate said she had received very positive and encouraging feedback since the book went on sale last week both online and in local outlets in the North West and in Belfast.
Kate O’Kane lives in Strabane and is married with three grown up children and three grandchildren. In earlier adult years she managed a boutique which often took her to London. Later in life she struggled with ill health which resulted in her giving up a career in educational administration and finance.
“But, as the saying goes, ‘when one door closes another door opens’ and I found writing, poetry and prose, a therapeutic, challenging and enjoyable outlet,” she explained.
Kate also returned to university as a mature student where she gained a degree in Psychology. This led to further studies in Theology and Spirituality.
Through periods of illness she has explored alternative and complementary therapies and people will find above all, hope in her writing.
As a practising Catholic, she has a profound sense of spirituality and knows all about the sorrows and joys of everyday life. She continues to embrace life in whatever form or guise it may appear and this is reflected in her insightful and thoughtful writing.
‘Angels Do Come - Just Call!’ by Kate O’Kane is available from the author herself, online at Amazon and as an ebook and locally in Strabane - The Holy Shop and Pagoda (Shirley’s); Derry - Veritas, Eason’s, The Holy Shop, Equilibrium; and Belfast - St. Mary’s Depository.
