Malin GAA : Congratulations to the Donegal Senior Football Panel who retained the Anglo Celt Cup on Sunday by defeating Down in Clones. A special mention must go to our very own Declan Walsh who was drafted into the starting 15 as a late replacement and gave another flawless performance in the Donegal defence. Declan also managed to chip in with 2 important points from his position in the full back line when the game hung in the balance in the opening half.

He now has an Ulster senior medal to add to his provincial Minor and Under 21 medal collection.

A very successful Cul Camp took place last week with 175 children in attendance, a fantastic turnout and thankfully the weather held up while Donegal senior captain Michael Murphy and Declan Walsh both made appearances during the week.

Thanks to camp coordinator Maria McLaughlin, head coach Charlie Byrne, and all the coaches and helpers with a special thanks to Celia and James Boyce and Susan Byrne who worked in the shop all week.

Go raibh mile maith agaibh to everyone who helped make the ceili on Friday night such a success. Thanks to all those who attended the event, baked, made sandwiches, provided biscuits, buns etc.

Also a special thanks to the 19 who helped make the tea, served the food, sold tickets, helped at the door and tidied up. Many hands make light work.

There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot. The sequence drawn was 7,6,4,3,2,1,5. The 50 euro winner was Pat O Donnell, Redford, Culdaff with the 20 eurosellers prize going to John Collins. Next week’s lotto jackpot is 2,550 euro and we thank the local community for its continued support.

Finally, a big shout out to Sean Owen, who managed to get himself, 30 passengers and approximately 2,000 Donegal supporters lost by taking a wrong turn on the road between Clones and Monaghan Town on Sunday!
