The theft of 15 iPads from a Derry primary school has been condemned.

The theft took place during the lunch-time break on Friday last at the Model Primary School on Northland Road.

Sinn Féin Derry City Councillor Patricia Logue has called on anyone with information about the theft to contact the police.

Councillor Logue said: “Schools are centres of our communities and provide not just education for our children but also services for families, after schools projects, and outreach to the wider community.

“To target schools and steal these iPads is therefore an attack on the entire community and is completely unacceptable.”

Ms Logue added: “I would appeal for anyone with even the slightest information on this theft or has been offered them for sale to bring it forward to the police straight away. It’s important that the iPads are returned so that it doesn’t interfere with the children’s school work.”
