Three masked men attempted to gain entry into residential premises in the Carnhill area of Derry on Tuesday night, police have said.

The PSNI are appealing for information following the incident that occurred just after 8pm.

Detective Sergeant Brian Reid said: “It was reported on Tuesday 4th October at approximately 8.15pm, three masked men attempted to gain entry to a residential premises.

“We are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1201 on 04/10/16. Or alternatively, if someone would like to provide information without giving their details they can report to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
