ARRESTS AFTER CAR FLIPS

This is the dramatic scene of an early morning car crash in Limavady in which a car flipped and landed on its roof.

Amazingly, the occupants of the crash walked away with non-life thtreatening injuries, according to police.

The crash happened on the Ballyquin Road in the early hours of Sunday morning and resulted in a number of arrests.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “At around 1am on Sunday, police signalled a car to stop at Connell Street in Limavady. The car made off, followed by a police vehicle. A short distance later, the car crashed and ended up on its roof at Ballyquinn Road.

“Five people were in the car and three were taken by ambulance to hospital. It is not believed that any of the injuries are life-threatening.

Police made five arrests for a range of suspected motoring offences. All were subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.”

The PSNI spokesperson added: “As is normal practice, the incident has been referred to the Police Ombudsman.”
