‘Pie Face’ games sold in a B&M store in Derry and throughout the UK are counterfeit, according to toy manufacturer Hasbro.

In a statement to the ‘Journal’ a spokesperson for Hasbro stated that the counterfeit games had been withdrawn from B&M stores but that the authentic ‘Pie Face’ game remains on sale throughout the UK.

“Hasbro has been made aware of counterfeit ‘Pie Face’ product available at B&M Bargains Stores in the UK,” a spokesperson said. “These products have been withdrawn by B&M Bargains. This withdrawal does not affect the genuine Hasbro ‘Pie Face’ game, which continues to be available nationwide.”

The spokesperson went on to advise customers with concerns about counterfeit ‘Pie Face’ games purchased from B&M Bargains to contact B&M Bargains directly.

On Wednesday, B&M used social media website Twitter to inform customers that ‘Pie Face’ had been withdrawn from its stores. B&M insisted the decision to withdraw the product was at the request of their supplier and stated that there were no safety concerns relating to the game.

‘Pie Face’ is one of this Christmas’ most sought after gifts. It is sold out in most high street stores.

The ‘Journal’ contacted B&M on Wednesday but they have not replied to our questions.
