In the lead up to Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Rick Edwards presents BBC Three’s debate show Free Speech, live from Derry on Wednesday, 22nd May with an audience of 120 people aged 18-25.
Rick will be hearing the opinions of the studio audience on the big stories of the day, with Tina Daheley (Radio 1 Newsbeat), relaying Twitter, Facebook and website messages from viewers at home.
A panel of celebrities, politicians and local activists will be debating ‘The High Price of Cheap Clothes’ in the light of the clothing factory tragedy in Dhaka which killed over 700.
Ethical consumerists will go head to head with those who can only afford cheaper clothing. And other topical issues will be added to the debate as the news unfolds.
BBC Three are also looking for more than 100 18-30 year olds who are outspoken on a variety of topics to join the interactive studio audience. The programme will be broadcast live from St. Columb’s Hall.
