A Derry health improvement project has been short-listed by the National Lottery for a prestigious award.

The Bogside & Brandywell Health Forum, which has pioneered health improvement on a neighbourhood basis since 2001, has reached the semi-final in the Best Health Category and is the only health project in the north to do so.

Tony Doherty, General Manager, said: “We’re delighted to have reached the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards and it’s a superb acknowledgement for our staff and volunteers.  The Health Forum now requires the votes of our friends and supporters, both in Derry and throughout the north to get us through to the final. The public can vote by telephone if you call 0844 836 9702, and by logging on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards . If you are voting on-line, the Health Forum is in the Best Health Project category.”
