Major sewerage and roadworks began at Bligh’s Lane this week.
Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has said the work is being carried out during the school holidays to reduce disruption to traffic.
Colr. Logue said; “The work being carried out on the underground sewerage system across the city is necessary and will inevitably lead to some disruption for motorists and residents. It will take six weeks to complete.
“This is a major arterial route in the Bogside and Creggan and can be extremely busy at any time of the day. Whilst this work is being carried out I would urge motorists to be patient and where possible to use alternative routes to ease pressure on traffic flow through the area. If any resident has issues while this work is being carried out,I can be contacted at my constituency office on 71377551.”
